I have had bumps and patchy white skin around my vaginal entrance since I was much younger before I was sexually active. I am in my 20’s, and my research online seems to point to this being lichen sclerosus. I know that it can’t be a STI because it was there before I had sexual contact with anyone. It is itchy especially at night and sex can be painful when it is acting up. What are my options for treatment for lichen sclerosus on labia?
While there is no cure for the hereditary skin condition known as lichen sclerosus, there are a number of things that can be done to ease the discomfort that it causes and reduce the severity of the symptoms. Doctors usually prescribe steroid creams, and if these do not work, immuno-suppressants are sometimes recommended.
I suggest that you see a dermatologist who can give you a proper diagnosis (self-diagnosis using Google is often very unreliable) and who can recommend an appropriate treatment plan for you.
